National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)
A support and advocacy organization with more than 1,200 state and local affiliates that can offer guidance on finding treatment.

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)
Educational organization for patients, families, and the public. Maintains an extensive catalog of helpful books.

National Mental Health Association (NMHA) An association that works with 340 affiliates to promote mental health through advocacy, education, research, and services.
