Banana-Chocolate Smoothie


Prep time: 20 minutes

Serves 2 / Almonds and walnuts provide healthy monounsaturated fats and add a rich, nutty flavor to this sweet and creamy smoothie. Raisins add fiber, iron, and antioxidants.

1/4 cup raisins

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

1 sliced frozen banana

4 teaspoons almond butter

2 tablespoons walnuts

2 teaspoons dark cocoa powder

Chopped walnuts, for garnish

1. Soak raisins in hot water for 15 minutes to soften. Drain well.

2. Combine almond milk, banana, almond butter, and walnuts in a blender and purée until well mixed. Add drained raisins and cocoa to blender and purée until very smooth. Pour into glasses. Garnish with banana slices and chopped walnuts, and serve immediately.

PER SERVING: 266 cal, 46% fat cal, 15g fat, 1g sat fat, 0mg chol, 5g protein, 34g carb, 5g fiber, 184mg sodium
