Greek Cheese with Honey and Fig Preserves

Serve this sweet delight after dinner as your party chats around the fireplace. Place about 1 pound sliced manouri (a creamy, sweet Greek cheese) or goat cheese on a large platter. Drizzle generously with honey and top with toasted walnut halves. Place a bowl of fig preserves on the platter. Surround everything with sliced pears, apples, and plain crackers or peasant bread; use them to scoop up the cheese, honey, and walnuts, then top with a dollop of fig preserves.
