Soothing Herbal Creations

Treat your sunburn with these homemade solutions:

Brew a cup of strong green tea, then cool. Soak a sterile cotton cloth in the tea and pat sunburned skin to soothe.

Fill an ice cube tray with green tea and freeze. Rub cubes on sunburned skin to refresh and cool.

Keep an aloe vera plant in your kitchen. The next time you need relief from sunburn, cut off a stalk, scrape out the gel, and apply it directly to your skin.

Mix a few drops of English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) oil, which also heals burns, with almond oil or another carrier oil and gently massage into skin.
