A toner for every type

Regardless of skin type, everyone should include toner in her daily skin care regimen, says Dee Dee Dermody, an aesthetician in Napa, California. “Cleansers loosen oil and makeup but can leave traces of both behind. Toners wipe away remnants and refresh your face.” Plus, toner restores the skin's delicate pH, protecting skin from sun damage and acne breakouts. Apply with a cotton ball after cleansing, and avoid products with drying ingredients such as alcohol and benzoyl peroxide.
